Simone Tea House Extension
The project introduces a carefully considered rooftop addition—a lounge and bar space intended for hosting important guests and clients. This new level is sensitively integrated above the existing building, respecting its original British colonial architecture while introducing a modern, refined layer that reflects the company’s evolving image and business needs.
The extension strikes a balance between contemporary elegance and contextual harmony. Designed with a clean, sophisticated palette and detailing, it offers a fresh identity without overpowering the existing structure. The new rooftop bar is seamlessly connected to the adjacent roof pavilion, which was also designed by Studio Makal in an earlier phase. Together, they form a unified and elevated guest experience that speaks to both tradition and progress.
To support this new addition, Studio Makal extended the previously recessed portion of the building below, creating a strong architectural anchor and structural foundation—ensuring both visual and functional cohesion. The overall result is a dignified, modern extension that complements the historical character of the headquarters while confidently moving the company forward.
