The Alqalil Sarha’ Desert Accommodation

Alqalil Sarha’ (roughly translated as little desert) is a story built in the desert. Inspired by a famous book by Antione de Saint-Exupéry titled The Little Prince, we aim to tell a story, a mystery, and a journey. The desert is vast and unforgiving, abstract and unpredictable. We dare to call it little because we tamed it through our architecture. Now the harsh desert is tamed, we can now unravel the mystery. Our concept tells what is inside a dune. A dune is a wonder of the desert. Like waves in the high seas, a lot is yet to be discovered. As writers tell stories through books, and people experience their thoughts through reading, our design tells the stories through architecture, and people experience it through the corridors, walls, ceilings, and all the tactile forms.

“What makes the desert beautiful,’ said the little prince‚ is that somewhere it hides a well…” Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
